Now that it has been a few days, I finally feel up to writing about marriage-equalitythis subject. California voted to pass Proposition 8. I was going to go to a rally tonight, but my babysitters (aka my in laws) had something come up and after watching on the news I don’t think I would be able to handle a 2 year old, a 7 month old, and fighting the good fight. I have looked up some other gatherings online though, so new plan is for tomorrow. I have been wondering a few things though.

Did anyone take the time to actually read the proposition, or did they just listen to scare tactics?

Teaching the homosexual agenda in school and forcing churches to marry gay couples had NOTHING to do with it! Here it is verbatim for anyone interested:

PROPOSITION 8

This initiative measure is submitted to the people in accordance with the provisions of Article II, Section 8, of the California Constitution. This initiative measure expressly amends the California Constitution by adding a section thereto; therefore, new provisions proposed to be added are printed in italic type to indicate that they are new.

SECTION 1. Title

This measure shall be known and may be cited as the “California Marriage Protection Act.”

SECTION 2. Section 7.5 is added to Article I of the California Constitution, to read:

SEC. 7.5. Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

So, what happened was, Californians voted to make marriage between a man and a woman, then some judges said that it was unconstitutional to do that, so, these same Californians decided to CHANGE the constitution to fit their hateful needs. A vote for yes took away the rights of MANY hard-working, really awesome Californians. (Americans actually, because quite a few other states were just as hateful this election)  A vote for NO would have let everyone marry the personflag-rainbow1 they love. There were no big plans to invade the elementlabrys_silver_shadow_lgary schools with rainbow flags and labrys. And churches would continue to have the right to deny their services to any couple they want, gay or straight. It makes me really sad to hear that churches are spreading lies for their “cause”. All they want is the same rights as you, nothing more and certainly nothing less. Why do you care who someone marries anyway, huh? Please fill me in, because I am confused, do I get to start voting on everyone’s marriages now or just the people you consider second class citizens?

What is it that makes someone think their love is more important or significant then another couple’s?

What is so great about a man and a woman? Don’t tell me it is because they can have kids, because then we should be denying infertile and old people the right to marry. And definitely don’t tell me anything about Adam and Eve, because unless you have some bones or fossils I don’t know about, they might not have even existed. That is great if you believe they did, but we don’t make laws based on what YOU believe. They are based on what is right and fair, so keep your lies and bigotry out of it.

married02

How is it possible that Californians thought ANIMALS needed more rights, but PEOPLE, less? Over 60% of Californians voted YES on 2 to help animal treatment on factory farms, but only 48% think everyone deserves the right to marry. Where is the logic in that?? Animals have more rights and are more important then people now?? Well, just the people YOU think are living in horrible sin, right?

OK fine if God thinks it is wrong, He also thinks lying, adultery, and laziness are wrong but we aren’t passing any laws there.

What is next, will we decide interracial marriages aren’t valid? Will you try to take my marriage from me as well? Some people argue that the Bible has a pretty strong argument to-

Deuteronomy 7:3-4 says

Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, for they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.

It may seem a little out there, but I say it is about as concrete as the passages that are against homosexuality. And it wasn’t until 1967 that the last 16 states made interracial marriage legal, so who knows if I’m next.

Are all the homosexuals going to stop paying taxes? Why should they have to pay if they are not given the same rights? Melissa Etheridge has decided to stop, I wonder who is going to join her? Find out more in John Bisceglia’s blog Gay Tax Protest

I don’t know what is going to happen, the only silver lining is that the majority of people that voted NO were the youth, so it looks like things will get better. We gonna be in charge soon enough and then we can fix this mess and do what is right!

I had high hopes that California would block this proposition, but I guess there are small minded people everywhere.

It’s official, well, as official as it can be until January 20th.  Barack Obama is the new President of the United States of America. I couldn’t be happier, obviously.  Not only do I truly believe that he can help turn the US around, but what an amazing moment for our country.  An African American has been elected President; something I didn’t think I would see in my lifetime.

I was just watching McCain’s loser speech, (sorry I don’t know a better term for it LOL) and I was put off by something.  There were numerous times that the crowd booed about something- mostly when he talked about Obama- and McCain seemed upset and surprised by this.  I don’t get it.  He has spent the last 6 months (more really) bashing Obama and telling the US why he is so much better then him.  Now that Obama won McCain just expects his supporters to forget everything he said and jump on the bandwagon??  You can’t tell people how horrible someone is one day and then tell them to come together and support that person the next?  Does he really not know the crazy stuff that was being said about Obama on the internet??? It is no wonder die hard McCain supporters are mad and scared… they probably believed what they read.

I know this happens all the time, but I am just getting tired of the way these elections are handled.  Doesn’t anyone have any class anymore, or respect, or privacy???

Congratulations to Obama, I know you are going to do an awesome job!! I can’t wait to hear your speech… should start any minute!  Don’t let me down! :D

This lady is a nutcase!  How can you honestly justify this?  In case you can’t see the video, here is a run down-

This lady in Detroit decided to use Halloween to “campaign” for McCain…. to 5 and 6 year olds.  When they come up to her door she asks if they support Obama, if they say yes then she refuses to give them candy and sends them away.  Happy Halloween, right?  If the child doesn’t support Obama, she gives them a miniature candy and a HUGE McCain/Caribou Barbie door hanger.  Like any kid could give two craps about a door hanger.  Those things were probably all over the streets!

Also, what about the kids that could care less, but just said they support Obama because that is what she wanted?? What kid wouldn’t say they loved eating poop just to get some candy.  But more importantly why the hell is she even involving children and Halloween in the craziness that is known as our election system.  Halloween should be about costumes, candy, games, trick or treating, and just having fun…. NOT about elections or who is voting for whom! This is just hateful and mean and to be honest, I hope the bitch got egged!

endnote– I think next year I’ll ask kids if they believe in God… if they say yes, NO CANDY! Imagine what would be said about me, I’d probably be stoned, but I’m sure all you McCain supporters think this is just peachy.

So, I was just wondering what kind of response I would get about this topic.  Heaven help us if America votes like morons again and actually elects some of these people! McCain is as old as dirt and Palin as green as grass! I know everyone liked to complain about Obama’s lack of experience, but COME ON!!! From PTA to Observatory Circle?? Or, even the White House, considering how ancient McCain is!
