Sounds beautifully memorized…. I guess I kinda have to stop talking so much crap now that he has apologized, but don’t think I’ll forget! He can spew all the role model BS he wants, but the true test is if he does it again or not. Here’s hoping he’s learned some self-control and respect for women.

Get in line fu*kers… Cause there are quite a few people that I’d like to beat the shit out of, you know, if I’m only gonna get community service anyway.

Chris Brown

Singer Chris Brown was in court this week facing charges for the incident between him and Rihanna after the Grammy Party last February.  He plead guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to 5 years probation and 6 months of community service.

A total joke, if you ask me.  Did you know-

1 in 3 teens is abused in a relationship. And 80% stay in the relationship after the first act of violence.

And now society has pretty much said we don’t care.  Probation and community service, are you kidding me?  He beat the hell out of her and told her he was going to kill her. Not even 1 day in jail?!? It’s no wonder so many women don’t get help… there is none.

Chris Brown plead not guily, last Monday, to his 2 felony charges of assault and making criminal threats.  I have to admit I really expected a plea agreement and I am a little intrigued as to how he plans to get out of this one.  First of all the pictures say it loud and clear, second, Rihanna has said that she will testify if called.  I really can’t imagine what kind of stacked jury they would need to get a not guilty. And I know Brown is hoping his fame will keep him out of jail, but he should be worried about taking responsiblity for his actions and becoming a better man.  If he would have beat a stranger like that he would be in jail for sure, so why is it any different because she was his girlfriend? And I am so glad that Rihanna is still spending time away from him. Hopefully it stays that way and she moves on to bigger and better.  Women everywhere need to know that no guy deserves a second chance.  Let him fix himself and then come sweep you off your feet…. because a man that hits a woman is a man with bigger issues then you want to deal with.

I don’t care who the guy is, if he hits you then he doesn’t deserve you. period.

And remember:

Females ages 16-24 are more vulnerable to intimate partner violence than any other age group
– at a rate almost triple the national average

Before I was with hubbs, I was in an abusive relationship.  He choked me on several occasions, kicked me, slammed me against walls, the works… and still to this day I don’t know why I hung around as long as I did.  Maybe I thought it was better to have a jackass then nobody at all or maybe I thought it was my fault (I am kinda difficult) but I stayed around for about 4 months of it before I realized I am WAY better then that (and him).  And every woman should know she is better then that.

First, a quick update:

  • TMZ.com is reporting that the infamous 3 page text message came from Chris’s manager, 39 year old, Tina Davis.
  • The couple may be recording a duet about love overcoming challenges. yea, really.

Now for the reactions/quotes of some other celebrities.

Diddy

“It was a dark time for them and I was there as more of a support.  I’m not immersed in [their situation]. I’m not going to pass judgment on it. I’m going to be there as a friend.”

A friend to who though? If he were Rihanna’s friend he would tell her to stay the hell away from Chris, not let them borrow his house for make-up sex. IMO. Obviously.

Akon

“Oh, absolutely!  I wouldn’t take anybody’s personal issues or problems— I won’t hold them accountable for that when it comes to work. I think it’s two separate things.”

This was Akon’s response when asked if he would work with Chris Brown again.  I wonder, if Osama bin Laden wanted to collaborate, would Akon look past personal issues too?  This is such a cop-out… I wish these guys would admit they all think Chris is still gonna be worth a bunch on a track and that’s why they wont speak out against what he did.

Finally, people with some sense::::

Molly Sims

“It’s so sad. I don’t think anybody knows the whole truth, but I guess the truth really doesn’t matter when [abuse] is the result. That should never happen, no matter what. And I love his music. That being said, I think [about] Rihanna : No girl, no woman, no mother, no sister, no friend, no one deserves that. Absolutely.”

Yep. Sounds good. Thank you, Molly. :D

Oprah

“Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I was your friend, I would call you up and I would say, ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself, Heal yourself first’. And also, love doesn’t hurt. I’ve been saying this to women for years: ‘If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.’ “

Go Oprah!!! And, she is also dedicating this Thursday’s show, about Dating Violence, to all the “Rihanna’s of the world”

Rosie O’Donnell

“So, especially young women, the time to leave someone who hits you is after the first time… that’s it.  Because the chances of them turning around and changing are minimal.”

This is what I have been saying!! Why should she forgive or get back with him.  Rihanna said herself that the violence had been escalating. He will do it again.

What do you think about it? Should they be back together? Should people and companies be speaking out against what Brown did?
