Alright, you guys are killing me. Before the apology by Chris Brown practically no one wanted to Chris bash with me. But now that he has said “sorry” everyone hates him?? Huh?
I posted the apology yesterday and you can see it here. Look, I’m not saying forgive and forget and let the fucker do it again, I’m just saying what more can he do besides apologize? Will I buy his albums, no, but I’ll stop calling him a woman abuser… for now. People make mistakes all the time and while it sure as hell IS NOT an excuse, him growing up in a violent household is definitely a contributor to his awful behavior.
And the people that are mad that he took so long need to understand the way the system works… NO ONE discusses their case in the middle of it. It’s not like this is his first apology to Rihanna (he’s been doing that for 5 months) this was his apology to us. And I think we have no other choice but to forgive him- I’m not perfect and I’ve needed forgiveness before too! And it is always possible for people to change and better themselves…. Of course, Rihanna should still stay away, but I don’t think we need to banish him to some deserted island just yet! Or, maybe I’m just a sucker for an apology….

Sounds beautifully memorized…. I guess I kinda have to stop talking so much crap now that he has apologized, but don’t think I’ll forget! He can spew all the role model BS he wants, but the true test is if he does it again or not. Here’s hoping he’s learned some self-control and respect for women.

Now that that’s out of the way, I can get down to business. I’m having a hard time with the passing of Michael Jackson. I remember, growing up, choreographing dance routines with my friends to his hits (and there are plenty!) I even got to visit Neverland Ranch once. My mom had set it up for the preschoolers at her school to go and she brought my sister and I along. Michael wasn’t there at the time, but we had a BBQ, watched Dumbo in his movie theater (with all the free snacks we wanted), went on his carnival rides, rode the train, looted the candy shop (all free, again), and we even got to peek at his bedroom through the glass doors. Not only was all the food & candy we wanted free, but he didn’t charge the school a dime either. He really went above and beyond for the kids.
However, I also remember being outside the courtroom in my hometown, Santa Maria, when he was on trial. I worked for the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum at the time and my coworker (friend) Courtney and I knew the courthouse was right around the corner from us… and that there were vendors set up selling food. Well, we were hungry and heard they had really good tamales and cotton candy. So we locked up the museum (Shhhh!) and walked over. Right when we got there Michael was leaving, so we got as close to his car as possible to get a good look. We were definitely shocked when he got there and preceded to jump onto the roof of the car and dance! It was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever experienced. This man was on trial for molestation and he was jumping on cars.
I had taken a picture with my cell at the time, but that was probably 5 phones ago, so I found one online.
First, what if he did do it? Those poor boys have to hear us all praising him like he’s was Jesus or something. His face and music are everywhere! I can’t imagine what that would be like.
An equally disturbing thought- what if he didn’t do it? To to be accused twice, stand trial, loose your reputation? . Society stole his childhood and ruined his adult life and it’s possible that he was just really weird and liked to act like a kid. That’s awful.
And, now that’s he died, it worse. I have seen an article claiming the first boy that accused Michael is now saying he lied and one claiming Michael’s kids told LAPD they had been molested.
I don’t like that I can’t know for sure… mostly because I would hate to find out I was supporting a child molester!! But, I guess all I can do is let God/Karma/the Universe/whatever decide what he deserves.
And there really is no denying he made AMAZING records and had the moves to match. So, I’ve decided to celebrate the music I grew up grooving to and just try to put the man (and the mess) out of my mind. With that, I put together my 10 favorite Michael Jackson songs for this weeks Song of my Sunday. Hope you enjoy!
The 10 BEST Michael Jackson Songs–
according to ME!
10. Bad
9. Thriller

Get in line fu*kers… Cause there are quite a few people that I’d like to beat the shit out of, you know, if I’m only gonna get community service anyway.
Singer Chris Brown was in court this week facing charges for the incident between him and Rihanna after the Grammy Party last February. He plead guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to 5 years probation and 6 months of community service.
A total joke, if you ask me. Did you know-
And now society has pretty much said we don’t care. Probation and community service, are you kidding me? He beat the hell out of her and told her he was going to kill her. Not even 1 day in jail?!? It’s no wonder so many women don’t get help… there is none.

Chris and Rihanna apart again… March 24, 2009

Finally, I have been able to find some news about Rihanna and Chris Brown that doesn’t make my blood boil! First of all, according to People magazine, the couple is taking a break– Not officially breaking up, but hey, at least she’s not around him for the time being. I’ll be honest, I didn’t blog about it when I first heard because I thought it was just a publicity stunt to get people like me to shut up. Now that I have found out a few more things though, I’m not so sure.
While they have been apart, Rihanna has been out partying a few times and was even seen cozying up to Wilmer Valderrama from That 70’s Show. Chris, on the other hand, hasn’t been doing so well. In pictures he looks, well, sad actually… and according to his friend Tyrese
“It’s really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to. At the end of the day, I’m not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but unfortunately, us as entertainers, we have to grow up on stage with a lot of people looking at us. And a lot of people forget that he’s 19, she’s only 21.”
What Brown’s friends need to realize is that they aren’t helping anyone by supporting (enabling) him. If everyone would come out and say what he did was wrong then maybe he (and others) would go get help. But instead people say it is “his culture” and it was “her fault”… I just hope you all feel the same way when it is your daughters. Because the problem is that by giving people these excuses we keep the cycle going forever. No man will change if you let him believe it was her fault and no man will change if you let him slide because it’s how he grew up. We need to look at ourselves and how we are raising our sons. I’ll be damned if Jasdeep ever lays a finger on a woman…. and he will be worse off.
There are a couple men out there though, that did decide to speak out against Chris… in quite a big way. After MMA fighter Din Thomas knocked out Gabe Lemley last Saturday, he had this to say:
“It’s not cool to put your hands on a woman. So Rihanna, if you want someone to kick his ass, holler at me.”
OMG wouldn’t that be fun to watch!? And A.P. Taylor from One Song A Week released this parody of Hey There, Delilah called Hey There, Rihanna-
First of all, funny as hell, second of all, Rihanna should leave Chris for A.P.T., he’s way better looking!
Lastly, and this one might be a little disturbing to some folks, DoSomething.org has made a PSA about teen dating abuse. It re-enacts the police report from the night Chris assaulted Rihanna.
Anyone still think she shouldn’t leave him (for Wilmer)??

It just gets more and more depressing. I’m not even surprised anymore by the comments celebrities are making about Chris Brown & Rihanna… still disgusted though. Where to begin—
First of all, if they are really married, I will never talk about this stupid situation again! Yuck!! But I don’t think it’s true, so here’s the rest
It seems that with Brown’s impending court date, everyone wants to speak out FOR the young man….
Usher
I missed it, but Usher was quoted as saying this about the pictures of Chris Brown jet skiing in Miami:
“I’m a little disappointed in this photo, Come on Chris, have a little bit of remorse man. …The man’s on jet skis? Like, just relaxing in Miami?”
Go Usher, right? Nope. After his comments were made public Usher issued an apology:
“The comments made during a recent recording session amongst friends were taken out of context and blown out of proportion, I apologize on behalf of myself and my friends if anyone was offended. The intentions were not to pass judgment and we meant no harm. I respect and wish the best for all parties involved.”
Can someone please tell me why on earth we should NOT judge Chris Brown? First of all he is a celebrity and they take that gig knowing full well that they get NO privacy. Second, he broke the law! Third, did people really not see the picture? What he did deserves to be judged, so get over it Chris Brown fans.
Flo Rida
I posted before about his comments that bothered me, but I also stated that he dropped Chris Brown from a song and that was good enough for me. Turns out, he did not drop Brown from the song because of the incident with Rihanna. He even made a point to come out publicly and say this:
“It’s not just that record, there were other records that couldn’t make the album that I wanted to make the album as well, but that was the process – this was way before ever hearing anything about [Brown allegedly beating Rihanna]. This was way before, at least a month. I had been done with this record.”
So, my previous statement about him pretty much having no balls to speak up for women still stands.
Kanye West
Although he has called Rihanna his “baby sis” before, but still had this to say:
“Can’t we give Chris a break? I know I make mistakes in life.”
Now, this was before the picture came out, but still- If I heard some buy beat my little sister up I wouldn’t tell people to give him a break.
Suge Knight
He can say it better then I can type it-
I wonder, Suge, what if he brought her up on stage and beat the hell out of her? Because that was Rihanna’s early birthday present. Maybe Brown should hit up Suge in the future though, he has experience with this sorta thing.
50 cent
After the incident first happened he came out with this (I don’t even know what to call it, animation, video, cartoon, whatever)
Then, after he saw the picture, he said this:
“I thought that was something that you could use for humor, like any other comedian or someone else would utilize current events, After I saw the photographs of Rihanna, that wasn’t funny anymore. There’s a point you’re already past a woman fighting you back, You look at (the photograph), and it obviously went past that point, so there’s some issues there that definitely gotta be addressed. Not to take any shots at Chris or Rihanna or to take sides in any way, but it’s really not cool. It’s not funny at all anymore. That’s why there won’t be no more references to that from me in any way.
To be honest, I think his statement bothered me more then the dumb video. Thanks for the apology and great that he isn’t going to make jokes about domestic violence anymore, but why not take a side? I think it is fairly obvious here what side we should all be taking. Even if she is loony in love with him, the rest of the world can still agree that he was wrong.
You think celebs are bad…. go read what Chris Brown’s crazy fans have to say.

So, I have a feeling it is for sure now. Chris Brown and Rihanna I mean. Her father gave a statement to People from Barbados-
“Whatever road she chooses, I’m behind her. We are a family who stick together even though we are apart”
Arrgh!!! What the hell? How is this a father’s response?!? How was he mad at the LAPD for the photo leak, but doesn’t give a shit that some punk kid beat the crap out of his daughter?
If some guy did that to Nayana I would literally have to lock Angat up in a basement to keep him from killing the guy. I just don’t get this situation at all.

There was a report in People saying that Chris Brown and Rihanna were seen together at Sean “Diddy” Comb’s house. I am not sure if it is for sure, for sure, but it seems so. Neither of the two have come public with a statement. Here are the links:
Apparently he has been showering her with gifts and she is just too in love to stay away. Whatever. This will probably save his career though, because that was going in the toilet quick. His upcoming movie, Bone Deep, went as far as removing him from the marketing campaign. They decided instead to promote the other star, T.I., who will probably be in prison when the movies comes out.
If it is true, then it is, and she is just like lots of other women out there that stayed with an asshole. Good luck to both of them (no, actually not sarcasm for once) Maybe we can still use the situation to help women, you know, that want to be away from violence.
