Khloe Kardashian doesn’t give a krap about animals! March 24, 2009

Update:: I have moved over to http://www.moonstruckmommy.com Come check out this post and all my new ones over there!! :D

I’m not sure if everyone knows or not, but reality TV star Khloe Kardashian posed for a “Fur? I’d Rather Go Naked” campaign with PETA. I understand why people are so against wearing fur, really I do. I’ve seen the horror clips and I agree that animals are not treated right. I still wear fur though (and wool)…. and my beautiful little Coach bag/all my heels are made out of leather. So this is NOT going to be a post about animal rights and welfare. I am going to post a pretty graphic video though, so don’t press play if you’ve got a weak stomach.  I think if people choose to wear these things they should at least know what happens because of it.

When it  comes down to it, I don’t give a shit about animals, obviously, because I continue to buy leather, wool, and the very occasional fur.  And, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but if you purchase or wear those things you don’t give a shit either.  Which brings me to Khloe Kardashian.  Not only has she worn fur and purchased pets from Puppy Mills in the past, but she continues to wear leather.  Like I said, she can if she wants, I do, but then don’t join arms with PETA so you can shoot classy porn. (PS I would LOVE for whoever did the retouching to work on some of my photos!!)

She put a statement on her blog saying that she used to wear fur, but after she saw the horrible treatment of animals she stopped.  Ok, great, but what about leather then?

$imgAlt

Check out the shoes and handbag…. both leather.

February 2009

See what I mean, it’s all leather.  I know that it is difficult to stay trendy without the leather bags and shoes, but isn’t animal treatment soooo important to Khloe? SO much so that she took a big bold move posing naked for PETA.  Or did she maybe just want to pose naked….

Here’s the best one– she is unvieling her anti-fur ad

Are any of the women not in leather??? I just don’t get it, don’t people have common sense anymore?  You are at PETA event, dress appropriately!!

I know someone that claims to be a vegetarian, has PETA as a top friend on her Myspace, but then uploads photos of herself with leather items.  Come on girl, get a clue, you look like an idiot.  And I tried to tell her in a nice way, but she didn’t get it… maybe she’ll read this and finally take that crap down. Ha. Look Out. Guess it’s a mean day today.

Here’s the video. Oh, and seriously, if you are eating something, stop.

1. Trish (The Dish) - March 24, 2009

This shocks me a little. PETA is pretty good at smacking celebs down who do their ads and then go back on them. Pamela Anderson and her Uggs are a classic example. She claims she did not know they were made from sheep… sigh.

Moonstruck Mommy - March 24, 2009

Ah yes, the Uggs. Every girls favorite shoe to stuff their jeans into. I swear if I see one more chick running around southern California in 90 degree weather with Uggs on I’ll scream! Or wasn’t Pam in like a mini skirt and Uggs? Dumb people make me a crazy. Maybe PETA will catch wind and take all Khloe’s ads down. Everyone knows she only did it for exposure, she could care less what happens to any animals.

2. faemom - March 24, 2009

Wow. I mean wow. Didn’t PETA do any research before selecting her? I’m not big with PETA, especially the “I’d rather be naked than wear fur” ads because I think they’re just porn. I mean who looks at a naked Khloe Kardarhian and say “oh, damn. I guess I shouldn’t wear fur.” Besides Khloe obviously doesn’t care about the issue or she wouldn’t be wearing animal products. Ugh. Stupid people.

Moonstruck Mommy - March 31, 2009

My thoughts exactly. If I want some porn there is plenty on the internet, PETA doesn’t need to contribute with this crap! I was disappointed that they would let her be in the ad, when she obviously doesn’t care about animals.

3. Rick - March 24, 2009

Since she did this add has she worn fur? I think you are being unfair, I have not seen her wear fur since this add went out. if this is wrong show me a recent picture with a date on it

Moonstruck Mommy - March 31, 2009

I didn’t say she wore any fur…. I said she wore animal products… leather to be exact. I would guess PETA is just as anti-leather as they are fur, so they obviously should not have picked Khloe. I don’t think I have seen her once since the ad came out without some leather on her. As a matter of fact, I saw her on The Soup this weekend wearing a leather skirt. And I posted way more pictures of Khloe then anyone wants to see.

4. Mick - March 25, 2009

That video is fake. The Swiss Animal Rights Organization who did it never agreed to deliver the original material for verification. Manipulation – with videos or celebreties – is a PETA speciality. Animals in the fur industry are NOT skinned alive.

Moonstruck Mommy - March 31, 2009

That’s good to hear! I always knew PETA was a total wack-job nutso, but they are trying to do good at least. I guess I don’t have to feel so bad about my beautiful fur coat anymore! :D

marisela - August 16, 2009

oooo no there skinned dead like thats any better either way its just wronge jack ass……..the fur and skin belongs to them who are we to take it….

Moonstruck Mommy - August 17, 2009

I figure if I’m gonna take the ribs, breasts, thighs, or wings I might as well take some fur too. LOL No, actually I kinda agree with you, but I’m not gonna stop buying any leather because of it… it’s fricken everywhere!

5. joe schmoe - May 28, 2009

vegetarians just don’t eat meat, and there are many reasons to be one. not necessarily just because they feel bad for the animals.
vegans are the ones who don’t use any animal products.

Moonstruck Mommy - May 28, 2009

At first I didn’t know what you were talking about… I even had to go back and re-read the post. But then I figured it out… It was the dig! LOL I was just being bitchy. I know there are lots of reasons to be a vegetarian. I even want to try it for a week- it’s one of my 101 in 1001 things.
However, I know a thing or two about PETA and they don’t think too kindly of people that use animal hide for accessories.
Also, you shouldn’t be worried about using your real name… I don’t mind that you read my blog. :) As a matter of fact, here is another post you should check out.
Beat Drums, Not Women

6. julia gulia - May 30, 2009

And I’m sure you know for sure it was REAL leather? because you monitor everything that the kardashians wear. If anything you’re jealous, and you really shouldn’t be bashing a celebrity for doing ANY of these things when you’re obviously guilty yourself. I find this EXTREMELY hypocritical. You just sound like an idiot.

Moonstruck Mommy - May 30, 2009

Actually, I don’t remember posing for any PETA ads before wearing my fur and leather, so I guess I’m not just as guilty. hmmmmm
And if you are dumb enough to believe any of the Kardashians are wearing fake anything I feel sorry for you.
The only thing I am jealous of is her being able to get those pictures so amazingly retouched. Not fair!
Have a great day… Ms Gulia

7. johnstevens - June 22, 2009

Great page. Thanks for sharing the info.

8. Al - June 24, 2009

Hi Deidre,

Have to echo Johnstevens’ encouraging remarks and agree that this was a great post. Appreciate your visit earlier today. Hope all is well with “hubbs” and the little folks in your life. Be back later this week to do my weekly drive-by. All the best.

Moonstruck Mommy - June 25, 2009

Yes we are all fine. Thanks for stopping by…. can’t wait until you are back full time! :D

9. Paranoia - June 24, 2009

I don’t think wearing leather and wool is something that makes vegetarians and animal rights activists hypocrites. Leather is so impossible to avoid, like are you gonna refuse to ride in someone’s car or sit on their couch just because it’s made out of leather? And sheep actually enjoy getting sheared, PETA is just ridiculous and is kind of a nutjob, and I’m a vegetarian saying this. They also think fish have feelings, after all =p I am against fur, and I don’t eat meat other than fish and I think I’m doing a good job at standing up for animal rights.

Moonstruck Mommy - June 25, 2009

I definitely agree PETA is crazy. And no, I don’t expect anyone to refuse sitting on people’s things, however, they don’t have to purchase the products for themselves. And I’m sure all the animals love you… fish probably not so much! :D

10. Shocked - June 30, 2009

Lol i was looking up khloe to see her half naked pic and i found this site. I love fur and leather products always have but the video shocked the crap out of me. Maybe thats why PETA did choose her because the focus on her would bring attention to what they were trying to get across.

Moonstruck Mommy - July 1, 2009

LOL You have NO idea how many views I have been getting from people wanting to see her naked! :D The video is pretty nasty, but I’ve since heard that it might not be true- you know, just PETA scare tactics. I don’t know. I still rock my leather and fur. lol

11. anna - July 9, 2009

What on earth is wrong with you all? Jesus, you must all be seriously messed up and twisted or severerly uneduacated and naive to still continue wearing fur although you have seen the video PETA has published. None of you know whether or not that video is true or not, however even if it isn’t the suffering the animals still go through is still the same and they still live their last few days in the most agonising and unbarable ways. How dare you think you can kill an innocent being for the use of your own good! Why are you all so keen to look like a furry animal? Grow your own bloody hair if you’re all so eager to wear it! Don’t criticise PETA’s motives either when clearly none of you have any idea what you’re talking about. PETA obviously had their reasons for choosing Khloe – perhaps it was to change her attitude towards fur and inform her about it. The campaign was on fur not leather, she obviously isn’t educated on how leather is made (just like many people, including me untill I read the article on the PETA website). So instead of wasting your time & putting your barbaric opinions across, spend your time getting some theorpy because clearly you all need it, if you’re all so sickened as to sit back and still continue to let this revolting trade happen! Don’t bother replying to this comment either, because this is a matter of fact; whether you disagree with me or not. I won’t bother replying to any argumentitive comments so just do yourself a favour and stop being so bloody selfish, because what goes around comes around. No more needs to be said.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 8, 2009

At first I wasn’t going to approve your comment… If I shouldn’t bother replying and all. But I love to feed the crazy, so here we go.

I eat animals. Yum. I also wear fur. So Cozy. And leather. Hott! I’m not saying I am better then Khloe, just smarter. I don’t care what she wears, until she starts posing for PETA. I also don’t care if they got her to stop wearing fur.. she wears more leather then everyone I know! My point in this post was to show that PETA & Khloe are using the suffering of animals for publicity stunts and soft core porn. She needs to stop pretending like she gives a fuck about animals and PETA needs to make better decisions when it comes to spokespeople. Why would they choose someone so “obviously uneducated” like her??? Theorpy sounds nice though, maybe I’ll check it out.

Brent - October 8, 2009

anna we have plenty of homegrown nuts on this side of the pond; we don’t need to hear from the Brits. I have a new White Russian Fox coat already in storage for my grilfriend’s Christmas present. But please understand, when you are an old ugly man like me; we need all the help we can get with the young ladies.

12. Greenie - July 15, 2009

Great article! I totally agree with your views, though I am vegetarian and highly against wearing animal products.

I don’t expect any of the Kardashians to be rocket scientists, but would it kill them to be smart enough not to wear leather to a PETA unveiling? :/

Moonstruck Mommy - July 16, 2009

Exactly. I personally don’t care if people want to give a crap about animal rights or not, but I will point out when someone is an idiot. Khloe made herself look like an idiot… not my fault! :D
Thanks for stopping by!!
Deidre

13. Joe - July 16, 2009

So does PETA care about people owning pets? I do not own a pet simply cause they dont belong to me. They belong to mother nature and to be free as humans. Although we are not at all free even in the US.

Moonstruck Mommy - July 16, 2009

I have no idea what PETA’s views are about owning pets, you’d have to go ask them! But thanks for reading my post and leaving your 2 cents!! Have a great day.
Deidre

14. :/ - July 23, 2009

wow you went hard on khloe.

Moonstruck Mommy - July 24, 2009

That was kinda the point!

16. Rick Burton - July 26, 2009

Paranoia, You are NOT a vegetarian!

Vegetarians DO NOT eat fish!

You eat fish, therefore you are NOT a vegetarian!

This is a simple concept. Can you grasp it?

Stop calling yourself a vegetarian. You don’t get a title, you moron.

17. Shirly Smith - July 30, 2009

I guess you WERE having a bad day… Your tone on this is totally mean… hope today is better! :)

rick burton - August 2, 2009

I’m having a great day. I’m just sick of all of these fucking morons calling themselves vegetarians in one breath, then stating how they eat fish in the next. What is so difficult to understand? Vegetarians don’t eat animals. They eat vegetables.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 8, 2009

Not sure, but I think she might have been talking to me. I really could care less if my tone was mean. I was pissed off that the world is soooo full of idiots.
Rick- I <3 You! I had a friend growing up that called himself a vegetarian but then ate fish. He said it was because they don't have any oragans or a heart! (OMG WTF???!!) Stupid people make me crazy!

18. gena - August 7, 2009

This blog is kind of..dare I say it, ridiculous. I mean Im sure you know the Kardashians personally, and know EVERYTHING that they wear, so you know more than I do, but why do you even give a rats ass about what they do? You should really worry about your own life and stop admiring these people, or obessesing..Let them do what they want and yeah, leave them alone..Their human, and HEY! Ya’ll can get together and toture all the animals ya’ll want and get your precious fur and leather, because God we all know how much you have, how much you dont give a shit about animals, and how much the Kardashians don’t care either! Good luck.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 8, 2009

I wasn’t admiring and I definitely wasn’t obessesing because I don’t even know what that is… or did you mean obsessing? I was annoyed by PETA’s bad choice and Khloe’s obvious need to pose naked for the world (PS Khloe- we all saw your sister’s goodies, we don’t need to see yours too!)

Yea, it great to be soo rich and draped in mink… I wouldn’t want to live any other way. Puh-lease.

Tell me though, why should I leave them alone? They put their lives (and private parts) out there for the world.. and I have an opinion. Why don’t you stop reading what I blog about and go worry about your own life. Thanks and have a great weekend!

19. Annie - August 8, 2009

Pescatarian.

Look it up.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 8, 2009

But then, that’s really not a vegetarian is it? It’s a pescatarian.

20. ashleeee - August 11, 2009

you are incredibly hypocritical. calling her out on something that you do yourself, at least she is making an ATTEMPT to help, which you’re not.

and the ad is for fur, not leather. all the pictures you have provided are of her wearing leather, not fur. i get your point about the leather, but i agree with gena. you don’t follow them around and check if they are wearing real leather. you don’t even know them personally.

if you don’t give a shit about animals, why did you care enough to put down a celebrity (like that’s all that original)? yes the ad is a bold statement but at least PETA is using the whole sex thing to get attention to support a cause. i don’t mind the ad, i think it is quite tasteful then others i’ve seen of this nature.

i can’t believe you would put someone down when all they are trying to do is help…that says a lot about who you are. you are just another blogger putting down another celebrity. and for what? attention?? your opinion blows. i prefer perez hilton’s over yours.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 12, 2009

Does anyone know if there is a way to keep morons away from your blog? Is there like a placement test I can make people take before they read my posts? Because I am soooo sick of all these idiots.

First of all, I have no problem with Khloe Kardashian walking around in a dead dog, if that’s what she wants, I have a problem with her using PETA to pose nude. Like I said before, I know the ad itself was for fur (I’m can see & read) but PETA is very anti leather and would not be OK with Khloe wearing it. How do I know it isn’t fake leather? Well, if you know anything about fashion, you can recognize which designers each of those bags came from. WOW!

I wrote the post because I thought it was the dumbest thing in the entire world when I saw the picture of the women at the unveiling. They have no common sense. Please tell me who the hell seriously wears leather to a PETA event? Shouldn’t the crazy PETA people be throwing blood on them or something? Also, because… I can! I am allowed to bitch about anything, anytime and if you don’t like it, don’t come back! No one asked you to read my post.

She wasn’t just trying to help. She was trying to prove she really isn’t just the “ugly, fat sister”. Ask her to do another shot without the retouching and she what she says. LOL And anyway, I really don’t agree with using sex to get what you want. PETA should be able to state the facts to get people on their side. But instead they use lies and porn. Awesome. Definitely an organization I want to support.

Did you bother reading any of my other posts before saying I’m just a blogger putting down celebrities? And of course you like Perez Hilton better, there’s only 5 sentences to try and understand in his posts.

blackdove - September 18, 2009

Great answer.

21. shak - August 13, 2009

Is there any way to stop incomptent and imbecile people from making blogs? I seriously think there should be a screening test and an IQ test involved before they let people like you actually post your thoughts onto a website. Yeah, yeah I get it you have a “tough” life and blogging is the only way you can escape from the everyday terrors of life. You just seem like a bitchy cat lady.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 13, 2009

Looks like I hit a nerve :) You’re right about the bitchy part, but I think cats are super lame. You got anything else?

22. staylor - August 16, 2009

Four Words..

You. Need. A. Life.

Honestly, if you are sitting here discussing someone else’s so called weight problems you must have issues yourself. You know the average American woman is a size 10. Khloe Kardashian is beautiful, inside and out. Maybe you should rethink your ways.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 17, 2009

LOL I put quotes around the “ugly, fat sister” part for a reason. I definitely do not think she is fat. Hell, she looks 500000000000 times better then me. Ugly yes, but that’s because of her trashy personality.

And kudos to you for knowing how to count! Here’s 2 words:
Go. Away.

23. Eden - August 19, 2009

I hate to break it to you, but they don’t kill cows specifically for their leather. They use their skin after they’ve killed them for food. And wool comes from sheep, which they also don’t kill to get. If you eat meat that doesn’t mean you can’t be an animal lover but wearing chinchilla fur just because it looks nice is animal cruelty. Maybe you should have done some more research on how they sheer sheep for their wool, and how they kill cows for food, not for the sole purpose of leather. The real morons are people, like you, that attack people for not doing “real research” because obviously you haven’t.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 20, 2009

Look, I don’t care what you wear… I am only upset that Khloe & PETA joined up for this shame of a campaign. PETA is very against wearing leather. So, common sense tells us, PETA is against Khloe. Why then, would they choose her to do this?? My point with the post was to show how low PETA will go to make a scene. I don’t care how leather gets from the cow to the Jimmy Choo… I’m just glad it does. But PETA is very clear on their stance–

Leather: Animals Abused And Killed for Their Skins
Cows are Cool, Leather is Cruel

24. ashleeee - August 19, 2009

here’s three more words:

YOU’RE A BITCH.

i agree with staylor and shak, get a fucking life.

you’re calling ME an idiot? BITCH PLEASE.
why don’t you get off your fucking high horse for a change. i can’t believe you would strongly criticize people that have a different opinion then yours and had nerve enough to comment why. calling them ‘morons and idiots’ isn’t going to make people agree with you.

just like it’s a free country to write an “oh so original blog post on a celebrity”, if they want to wear leather to a PETA ad unveiling, then they can. they still posted the ad everywhere, despite the fact that she does wear leather. they don’t seem to have a huge problem with it.

you don’t know her, neither do i, but you shouldn’t just jump to conclusions, assuming she wanted to be nude in an ad so she chose PETA. you don’t give a shit about animals, so why do you care? you are just hating on a celebrity because you can! she is obviously trying to make a statement so it’s not your place to criticize someone for attempting to help, in any way, something you’re not doing or even want to do seeing that you love your fur.

oh, and on that free country note, people that disagree with you are entitled to their own opinion.
SO YOU ARE ALSO ASKING FOR IT.

yes, people like, and love, perez hilton more then you mommy dearest, get over it!

Moonstruck Mommy - August 20, 2009

DOES TYPING IN ALL CAPITALS MEAN YOU ARE EXTRA SERIOUS??!

Yea, I called you an idiot… I think you are one. And probably (max) 18 years old, so sorry if I don’t take you as serious as you’d like. I love how the people that found, read, & commented on my blog are telling me I need a life. I don’t have time to run around commenting on blogs of random strangers I don’t agree with… and you do, so you tell me who needs a life again?

I don’t mind the nasty comments, in fact, it’s one of my favorite parts of blogging. I’ve even dedicated entire posts to it. So, please, leave all the comments you want…. Just don’t expect me to not call out morons when I spot them.

I know PETA still showed the ad everywhere… that’s the problem! Actually, I’m not going to bother discussing the Khloe/PETA thing with you anymore, because you obviously don’t get it.

And like I said before, did you read any other posts before labeling me a celebrity bashing blogger? Yea, I’ve done it before, but it is definitely not the reason I blog.

25. ashleeee - August 23, 2009

UM, DUH. EXTRA EMPHASIS.

why do you think i’m an idiot? tell me, i’m interested.

you may be a mommy but you sound like a child.
attacking each and every commenter saying their wrong.
you expressed your opinion. let others tell you why they don’t agree with your harsh opinion.

it SEEMS like the reason you blog is to talk celebrity life (btw, i hope you noticed how all caps give my words a voice) and looking over the many titles you linked me too, you’ve bashed many hollywood stars. multiple times.

and of course, i understood your argument, and i do NOT agree with it, but you shouldn’t be so critical of someone you don’t know. yes, celebrities annoy me at times, but the first thought that comes to mind is not rushing home to tell random peeps through a blog while completely obliterating the chosen celebrity with words. i admit, commenting on a rather worthless blogger’s blog is a little humiliating, but when people personally attack me, i fight back.

the thing that annoys me the most about you is that you don’t get that you’re criticisms went too far, especially on a C-list celebrity that you do not know personally, while admitting to being a total hypocrite on animal rights. you also seem to enjoy replying to every person that doesn’t agree with you and calling them names.

even if i were 18, i certainly would have more maturity then that.

Moonstruck Mommy - August 23, 2009

So first of all, I’m not sure if you’ve heard of it, but there is something called italics you can use for extra emphasis.

Also, this isn’t the New York Times online it is my personal (like the emphasis?) blog… I can be as mean as I want to people that leave rude comments. If it hurts your feelings then don’t comment. You said- “when people personally attack me, i fight back.” But honey, you left a comment first, so that logic doesn’t really fly.

I don’t feel like I was too harsh on Khloe… I think she was completely selfish in her reasons for doing the ad. All I did was point out that she doesn’t care about animals the way she says she does. And, in case you don’t get it, I don’t care if you agree or not.

Just the fact that you are still calling me a hypocrite let’s me know that you don’t get it. I’m not mad that she wears dead animals, I’m mad that she posed for PETA and still wears dead animals. Do you understand yet??

I don’t bash celebs for having shitty make-up or dating so and so’s ex… I only do it if they give me a real reason to think they are as brainless as they seem. Cheating in sports, beating up women, taking off your leather shoes to pose naked for PETA, shooting yourself in the leg… things like that.

Besides those few, I post about my life and usually just random crap.
